Non-farm payrolls (NFP)
Also called: payrolls
The monthly US jobs report, usually released on the first Friday of the month at 08:30 New York time. It is one of the most market-moving data releases.
In practice
NFP is released at 08:30 New York time, usually on the first Friday of the month. EUR/USD can move 50 pips or more in minutes if the number surprises.
Holding tight stops into the release. Spreads widen and slippage is common in the first minute.
